Gryt 1.15.5

Calls ring, you can pick your own sounds, and bots are easier to manage.

Voice & video

New

When somebody calls you, Gryt plays a ringtone until you answer or decline, flashes in the taskbar, and shows a notification if the app isn't in front.

Changed

A DM has one call button. Turn the camera on once you're in the call.

Chat

Changed

A device waiting to be approved for DMs says which of your devices has the key, when you last used it, and the date it takes over by itself if nobody answers. If none of your devices with the key has been on that server for 30 days, it takes over right away.

Fixed

The buttons on a DM key problem match what the line says, and "Check their key" opens the pictures to compare.

The person card in a DM's info panel scrolls instead of being cut off, the BOT tag is readable on every card colour, and the typing line shows #2 when two people share a name.

Notifications

New

Settings → Notifications has a ringtone and a sound picker: six ringtones and seven message sounds, or your own file. Picking one plays it.

Servers & invites

New

A bot that's already in can ask for more permissions. It shows up in Server settings → Bots with what it has and the new ones to approve, and the red count on Server settings includes bots waiting for an answer.

The role editor has a See diagnostics permission, for who's in voice, their latency and the voice server's numbers. Only the owner has it to begin with.

If you saved a server by its home network address and it isn't answering, Gryt offers to connect through its public address, when the server has one.

Changed

A bot waiting in Server settings → Bots has Approve and Decline buttons, and each answered bot shows the start of its id and when it knocked, so two bots with the same name can be told apart.

Fixed

The number on the Discover badge sits in the middle of it.

Settings & app

Changed

When you sign in, the app proves it holds your account's key, and Gryt writes down that it did. Later, a new device signing in with only a password will need approval from one of your devices or your 24 words.

Fixed

Searching settings finds the advanced ones too, like the overlay.

That’s everything in this release. When something lands that’s worth explaining, there’s a post about it.
