Gryt 1.15.0-beta.13

Beta

Beta: unread counts survive a restart, and a round of fixes for sharing windows and the camera.

Voice & video

New

Camera quality has two more choices: Native sends what your camera gives, and Custom lets you pick the size and frame rate yourself.

Changed

Tiles stay between 16:9 and 9:16, so a share or camera isn't stretched into a thin strip. The grip settles on the nearest size when you let go of it.

Face centering glides to your face instead of jumping.

The last line of the mic and headset menus is now Open audio settings, and it looks like a link.

Fixed

A shared window only ever sends its own sound, never the rest of your computer's, and Gryt's own windows share with no sound so they don't echo.

Stopping your first shared window keeps the others running, and you can turn sound on for a window you shared without it.

The quality you pick for one shared window no longer changes your default, and the sound badge on your share follows the sound switch.

The share picker names each screen with its number and size, instead of the same name for all of them.

The camera you picked is still picked after a restart, and the camera list shows one you plug in while it's open.

The camera preview and menu open above the camera button, and the preview runs at the frame rate you'll send.

Chat

New

The server remembers how far you've read in each channel, so unread counts survive a restart and follow you to another device. It needs server 1.12.2-beta.8 or newer.

Fixed

When a voice channel's chat can't be reached, you get one notice about it instead of three.

Servers & invites

Fixed

Linking a new device shows one New device linked notice, however many servers you're on.

Settings & app

Fixed

A mic, speaker or camera with no name shows as Microphone 1, Speaker 1 or Camera 1 instead of a string of letters and numbers.

That’s everything in this release. When something lands that’s worth explaining, there’s a post about it.
