Direct messages and servers each keep to their own view now, and opening direct messages takes you straight to your latest conversation.

Opening direct messages opens your most recent conversation, instead of an empty view.

Direct messages no longer show a server's channel, and a server no longer shows your direct messages. On 1.11.7 one could turn up in the other's place, so a conversation looked like it belonged to a server.
